Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, self motivated Principal Security Engineer to work within our Mission Critical Security and Telecoms team, focusing on mission critical environments and critical national infrastructure with an emphasis on datacentre design. Ideally this role would be based in our London office but we will also consider candidates for our Manchester or Leeds offices. The role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office/on site.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the application of Physical and Electronic Security, and coordination of Telecoms infrastructure, working with some of the largest businesses in the world to ensure robust and reliable systems design.
We are looking for someone with meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to complying with industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate should be technically adept, an excellent communicator, and experienced in handling complex projects with high-performance expectations.
Proven expertise in the delivery of security systems for datacentres is essential. The ability to work collaboratively with security and telecoms engineers, architects, civil engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the solutions is crucial. Additionally, the candidate should have sharp problem-solving skills for fast troubleshooting and resolution of issues to ensure the reliability of mission critical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Security design projects from start to finish managing project timescales and deliveries to ensure successful delivery.
2. Develop and deploy the Sweco Security design standards customising to client specific requirements
3. Complete and maintain project TIDPs, MIDPs, DALs, DDLs, Risk Registers and other project related document repositories.
4. Produce design drawings, schematics and installation details to industry / client standards ensuring projects are aligned with engineering requirements.
5. Align deliveries to project / workstage / client specific Level of Detail requirements.
6. Deliver fully coordinated models working in conjunction with other multi-discipline teams.
7. Attend / lead discipline specific security workshops with other key disciplines in attendance.
8. Capture and develop project specific COBie data requirements working with our BIM team.
9. Attend design team meetings and document key decisions / deviations.
10. Remain up to date on latest industry developments.
11. Assist in the development of key automations to drive efficiency and demonstrate cost savings.
12. Input into client fee proposals.
13. Provide team support, share technical knowledge, and contribute to internal meetings.
14. Grow, develop and nurture other team members to support and assist with project delivery.
15. Meet all project deadlines and contribute to project profitability.
16. Prioritise tasks efficiently and effectively.
17. Maintain accurate timesheets and expense reports.
18. Attend client and industry events.
Key Experience:
19. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

21. High proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD (Revit knowledge would be advantageous).
22. High proficiency in Autodesk Forma (Formerly ACC).
23. High proficiency in PDF Editing Suite e.g. Bluebeam Studio.
24. High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
25. High proficiency with Google Workspace.
