Offer description

Freelance HSE Advisor – Onshore Wind Farm Project

We are seeking a freelance HSE Advisor to join a major onshore wind farm development in Scotland. This is a contract opportunity starting in January 2026, supporting delivery during a critical phase of works.

Role Overview The HSE Advisor will be based on site, leading inductions and monitoring safety standards across daily operations. This role is not limited to office paperwork — it requires a practical presence on site, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe working environment. Candidates with management backgrounds or hands‑on site experience are preferred over purely academic health and safety qualifications, as remote site conditions demand practical expertise.

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering site inductions and ensuring all personnel are briefed on safety requirements

Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with HSQE standards and RAMS

Providing guidance to site teams and subcontractors on safe working practices

Supporting management in maintaining a strong safety culture across the project

Preparing and maintaining documentation to demonstrate compliance with statutory requirements

Requirements

SMSTS certification & NEBOSH/IOSH

CSCS card

First Aid qualification

Strong background in site‑based health and safety management

Practical experience in civil engineering or renewable energy projects

Ability to balance site presence with documentation and compliance responsibilities

Contract Details

Freelance position, approximately 12 month duration

10‑hour days, Monday to Friday

Accommodation arranged by candidates and added to the day rate if candidate not local to site

CIS engagement preferred

Next Steps Interviews are expected in the first week of January 2026, with a target start date at the end of January.
