About the Role:
Job Type: Full-time, with potential for long-term opportunities
Location: Nursery in Jesmond
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday – term-time only (some flexibility available)
Key Responsibilities:
* Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
* Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging activities that inspire curiosity and growth
* Work collaboratively with the nursery team to meet the individual needs of all children
* Promote positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
* Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
* Uphold safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working in an early years setting (nursery or preschool)
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Warm, reliable, and professional approach
* Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
