Core responsibilities:
* Carry out duties in relation to beaches of planning control, monitoring planning conditions and unauthorised developments
* Undertake inspections and other monitoring visits to assess compliance with relevant legislation
* Investigate alleged breaches of legislation
* Write reports relating to planning investigations, draft formal notices and update computer records
* Take appropriate enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation
* Represent the Council at enforcement appeals, public inquiries and in court when necessary
* Respond to all service requests within the remit of the work of the team
* Provide advice and guidance
Phase II Core responsibilities:
* Day to day supervision of the planning enforcement team and carry out duties in relation to breaches of planning control, monitoring planning conditions and unauthorised developments
* To be the lead planning enforcement specialist advising the Team Leader and Team Manager
* Undertake inspections and other monitoring visits to assess compliance with relevant legislation
* Investigate alleged breaches of legislation
* Write reports relating to planning investigations, draft formal notices and update computer records
* Take appropriate enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation
* Represent the Council at enforcement appeals, public inquiries and in court when necessary
* Support S106 monitoring and compliance
* Support all staff and teams within Environmental Protection Team as required
