Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - The Role:
Create detailed design drawings and specifications for bespoke automated machinery using AutoDesk Inventor and CAD Software
Be responsible for projects yourself throughout the entire life cycle
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop new product concepts and improve existing designs
Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure design integrity
Prepare technical documentation and reports
Assist with training/upskilling junior engineers
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design engineering role
Experience with product development and manufacturing processes is a plus
Experience within the Automotive, Medical, Defence or Agricultural industry would be advantageous
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor and CAD software
Located in Cambridgeshire, this role would be commutable from Cambridge, Peterborough, St Neots, Sandy, Bedford and surrounding areas.
Due to internal promotion, this role has the potential to lead to a more managerial focussed position, leading a small team of designers and overseeing the mechanical design function of the business
