Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants to work full-time in SEN and SEMH schools across Bolton. This role involves supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
* Assist teachers with delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and wellbeing
* Support pupils with personal care where required
* Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual education plans (IEPs)
* Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Accurately record observations and progress where required

Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (school, care, youth work, or similar settings)
* Ability to work full-time only (Monday–Friday)
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to support behaviour management and emotional needs
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Desirable (But Not Essential)
* Previous experience in SEN or SEMH schools
* Team Teach or behaviour management training
* Background in care, psychology, youth work, or mental health support
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
