Are you passionate about unlocking the power of language for learners who need it most? This amazing school isseeking a committed and creative Teacher of English to join their specialist team in Newbury from January 2026 on a permanent, part-time basis (0.6 FTE).
This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in a SEND setting, supporting students aged 11–16 who face barriers to mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), Autism, ADHD, and other challenges. At this college, theybelieve every learner deserves a chance to succeed—and English is a vital tool for self-expression, confidence, and future opportunity.
What You’ll Do
 * Deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons tailored to individual needs
 * Support students in developing literacy, communication, and confidence
 * Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create inclusive learning plans
 * Contribute to a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where students feel safe and valued
 * Take part in curriculum development and whole-school initiatives
What They’re Looking For
 * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
 * Experience in SEND - although not essential
 * Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (SEND experience desirable but not essential)
 * A flexible, empathetic approach and strong behaviour management skills
 * Passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
 * Commitment to teamwork, professional development, and safeguarding
