Overview

Lawyer (Property) role at Derbyshire County Council. Location: Matlock/Hybrid. Salary: £44,433 to £47,925 plus market leading package. Closing date: 05 October 2025.

Key responsibilities

* You will be a practising lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive) with a good knowledge of property law including commercial property.
* You’ll handle a stimulating caseload relating to leases, licences, conveyancing and other property-related matters.
* Joining a dedicated and supportive team in Legal Services, you’ll be committed to working efficiently to deliver timely, accurate and effective advice.


Skills and experience

* Experience of advising in areas of property law
* Knowledge of current legislation and case law relating to property law
* Qualified as Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx)
* Ability to give clear and accurate legal advice, including training
* Good communication and interpersonal skills

Working arrangements

Legal Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but operates with flexible working arrangements including options for home working. Opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
