Overview
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Receptionist - Scarborough to support the Integrated Sexual Health Service. The role involves client-facing communication, appointment scheduling and clerical support across multiple clinics.
Responsibilities
* Provide a friendly first point of contact for patients, visitors, staff and external callers via telephone, email, text and face‑to‑face.
* Handle routine enquiries, triage to appropriate services and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
* Schedule and confirm appointments, issuing written confirmations through standard letters or digital communications.
* Assist with clinic planning and preparation, including the organisation of clinic schedules.
* Perform clerical tasks such as distribution of post, filing, photocopying and completion of routine forms.
* Type and word process routine letters and other documents as required.
* Record information in relevant computerised or paper‑based systems, including patient data where appropriate.
* Support multiple sexual health clinics, including chaperoning where necessary.
Qualifications
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn.
* Ability to work with a diverse range of clients in a confidential and non‑judgemental way.
* Basic clerical and administrative skills (typing, filing, form completion).
