You will support our operational and project teams across Christchurch and the wider region to maintain robust environmental management systems, meet consent obligations, and lift environmental performance every day; helping us create and care for thriving, sustainable communities.**Mō te tūranga | About the role**This is a permanent, full-time role working across a mix of office, operational and project environments in the Canterbury region. You will be part of a supportive environmental team that provides practical, solutions-focused advice to our construction and maintenance operations. Your work will directly contribute to compliance with resource consents, continuous improvement of our environmental management system, and the roll-out of our regional sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.**Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities**You will:* Provide day-to-day environmental advice to operational, project and management teams, supporting consenting, compliance and technical/scientific matters* Help maintain and improve our environmental management system, plans and training, aligned with ISO 14001 and Fulton Hogan’s sustainability commitments* Coordinate and complete site environmental audits and prepare timely, practical reports for operational managers* Support environmental investigations, identify potential or existing environmental issues, and help develop risk-based, workable solutions* Assist with resource consent applications and related documentation, including using tools such as CSVUE and, where required, project managing external consent processes* Monitor and support compliance with resource consent conditions, and help identify and communicate changes in relevant environmental legislation* Contribute to sustainability initiatives and identification of practicable sustainable solutions for departments* Assist with environmental training (e.g. Envirowise), and help build environmental awareness and capability across the region**Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with*** A formal qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning or a related discipline* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in regulatory planning and compliance processes* Experience with environmental management systems and resource consent compliance, ideally in a civil construction, quarrying or related infrastructure environment* A current Class 1 driver’s licence* Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain solid relationships across different levels of the organisation* Solid time management and organisational skills* A solution-focused mindset, with good problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement approach**He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits**At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
