PrincipalCivil Engineer – Water
Location: Leeds (City Centre)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time/Flexible
An exciting opportunity has arisenfor an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to joina leading consultancy team delivering high-profile waterinfrastructure projects across the UK.
Followinga series of successful framework appointments in the water sector,this role offers the chance to contribute to the most ambitious AssetManagement Period (AMP) yet. The successful candidate will be based inLeeds, supporting the delivery of major clean andwastewater infrastructure projects, including a significant capitalprogramme aimed at reducing storm overflow discharges.
Working at the forefront of innovation and sustainability, thisposition provides exposure to a wide range of project types—fromstrategic planning and concept design through to detailed engineering.The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and helping to shapea collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead andoversee the civil design of water infrastructure projects (clean andwastewater).
* Support project delivery across all phases:asset planning, strategy, concept, outline, and detailed design.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior teammembers.
* Collaborate closely with design leads, clients, andwider project teams.
About You:
* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering.
* Chartered (or working toward Chartership) with ICE or CIWEM.
* Extensive UK water sector experience, ideally including stormoverflows, SUDS, surface water, or sewage treatment.
* Strongleadership and communication skills with a track record of deliveringcommunity-focused, sustainable engineering solutions.
