Main Duties and Responsibilities
Childcare and Learning
1. Provide high-quality care and education for children aged [insert age range if known].
2. Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS.
3. Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and next steps.
4. Promote children’s emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development.
5. Act as a key person for a group of children, building strong relationships with them and their families.
Health, Safety, and Safeguarding
6. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of children at all times.
7. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures and report any concerns in line with statutory guidance.
8. Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
9. Adhere to all nursery policies, including health and safety, food hygiene, and infection control.
10. Professional Responsibilities
11. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
12. Demonstrate professionalism and act as a positive role model for children and colleagues.
13. Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
14. Support inclusive practice and promote equality and diversity within the nursery.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
15. CACHE Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
