A Little More About Your Role
As a Senior Project Manager within WSP's Local Government business, you will take a lead role in managing a variety of interesting highways and infrastructure projects for our clients within the local government sector. This role will also involve the management of a small team of Project Managers across our Leeds and Teesside offices. The role can be based from either our Leeds or Stockton-on-Tees offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in‑office and home working.
Responsibilities
* Managing our project management teams based in Leeds and Teesside offices; coordinating, developing and supporting team members in their professional and personal development, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
* Managing interfaces between various project team members, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and quality.
* Developing project management plans including scope, baseline programme, fee estimate, roles and responsibilities, risk analysis, technical review requirements, chairing progress meetings and producing weekly/monthly reports.
* Identifying blockers to delivery and finding resolutions.
* Prioritising client satisfaction through building and maintaining strong relationships and engaging with key clients, while forming trusting relationships with colleagues to ensure effective coordination for mutually beneficial outcomes.

You will be an integral part of our high‑performing teams in Leeds and Teesside. Our teams are friendly, collaborative and our ethos is based on trust, integrity and fairness. Both teams are fundamental to our delivery of projects for private sector and local authority clients. You will support our project managers delivering a wide range of projects such as the award‑winning Regent Street Flyover, bridge refurbishment and maintenance improvements, feasibility studies and bridge inspection and assessment work across the UK.
What We Will Be Looking For
* Experience within the Civils/Highways sector in project management and/or business administration and financial planning.
* Experience in managing a range of project management activities, systems (including enterprise resource planning) and processes.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.
* Experience in project and resource management with strong financial and commercial awareness.
* Knowledge of NEC 4 and desirable qualification.
