This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team located at Colchester hospital, working in the highly specialised Vascular Access service. We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in vascular access and a passion for patient‑centred care. Responsibilities
* Be competent in venepuncture and cannulation.
* Insert, care for, maintain and remove peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), midlines and ultrasound‑guided longer dwell cannulas, and perform blood draws.
* Undertake vascular access procedures in accordance with trust policies and guidelines.
* Maintain high standards of evidence‑based care.
* Communicate with patients and significant others with empathy and reassurance regarding assessment, treatment and care.
* Supervise clinicians, students and other staff on the Vascular access service, or overseeing those learning the procedures.
* Ensure accurate and comprehensive records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation.
* Ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and resources to carry out delegated care.
