CORE PURPOSE We require an inspiring, highly driven French Teacher to deliver high-quality modern foreign language instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Operating within a vibrant, multi-cultural community school, the successful candidate will facilitate a structured, communicative curriculum designed to foster deep linguistic fluency, grammatical accuracy, and cultural literacy, preparing all pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSE French public examinations. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS Communicative Language Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality French lessons across all attainment pathways, embedding consistent speaking, listening, reading, and writing practices to demystify complex grammatical structures and phonics. Closing Attainment Gaps: Identify and target deep-seated learning barriers, deploying structured scaffolding, targeted vocabulary retrieval cycles, and specialized literacy interventions to support all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND). Interactive Target Language Delivery: Create a highly immersive classroom environment, maximizing the use of the target language to build pupil confidence, spontaneous speech, and authentic pronunciation. GCSE Performance Tracking: Guide Year 11 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal Foundation and Higher tier GCSE French papers, meticulously analysing mock scripts to refine exam technique, listening strategies, and extended writing marks. Community Pastoral Care: Fulfill full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering pastoral curriculum units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families.
