The curriculum lead is the leader of the teaching team, overseeing all aspects of curriculum, practices, and education.
The role of the curriculum lead is to work closely with the business manager to ensure a high-quality curriculum is provided for every child within the centre. The curriculum lead also supports and leads the teaching team to ensure a well-planned educational and developmental journey for every child using Te Whāriki as the foundation. The role involves 3 days in the classroom supporting routines, rituals, practices, and team dynamics, and 2 days in the office focusing on PGC, evaluation, planning, and assessment, supporting the centre business manager in the main objectives.
Main objectives:
* Responsible for the effective leadership and management of personnel employed at the centre
* Ensure the strategic, operational, and financial objectives of the centre are met
* Ensure a high-quality educational programme is delivered
* Develop and implement the centre's strategic plan
* Support and implement the centre's annual plans
* Build strong relationships with centre families/whānau, children, and staff
* Maintain positive daily interactions with all personnel in the centre
* Review, adhere to, and implement all policies, procedures, and regulations as outlined in the centre Operations Manual and employee handbook
* Actively support and implement the centre's philosophy
A future thinker, innovative, experienced Kaiako with clear communication skills who can build and maintain caring, responsive, and reciprocal partnerships. Leadership skills are essential, and a willingness to upskill is required.
