This pioneering technology enables clinicians to make faster, more confident decisions in complex orthopaedic cases. As the organisation expands across the UK, we are seeking a Field Application Specialist based in Birmingham to support clinical teams adopting this next‑generation molecular diagnostic platform. Key Responsibilities Clinical Application & Customer Training Deliver on‑site and remote training to clinicians and laboratory teams on the use of genomic PCR‑based diagnostics for joint pain differentiation. Support workflow implementation, sample handling, and best‑practice clinical integration. Guide NHS and private sector teams through the adoption of a world‑first genomic PCR test. Technical & Molecular Support Provide expertise in PCR, molecular biology, genomics, and NGS‑related workflows. Assist with troubleshooting, assay optimisation, and integration into established lab or clinical pathways. Offer hands‑on support during clinical evaluations and validation studies. Customer Partnership Build strong relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, microbiologists, biomedical scientists, and infection specialists across the Midlands. Serve as the regional specialist ensuring exceptional user experience, rapid issue resolution, and continual clinical value delivery. Candidate Profile Essential Background Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Strong practical experience with PCR ; familiarity with NGS or host‑response genomics is highly advantageous. Experience within a clinical diagnostics, molecular lab, or medical devices environment. Based in or near Birmingham, with willingness to travel across the region. Desirable Experience Previous experience in Field Applications, Clinical Specialist, or Technical Support roles. Understanding of infection diagnostics, inflammatory pathways, or orthopaedic clinical workflows. Confidence working directly with hospital clinicians, laboratory staff, and theatre teams.
