Overview
Mileway is Europe’s leader in last-mile logistics real estate. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive Legal Assistant to join the UK In-House Legal team, based in the North West or Yorkshire. You will interact with Asset Managers, Company Directors and external lawyers as part of a four-person in-house legal team within the UK Property Management & Asset Management Operations group.
You will play a central role in administration related to the leasing of our commercial property portfolio, including drafting and managing important legal documentation. We value collaboration across departments and offer opportunities to grow and develop at Mileway.
What you’ll do
* Draft and negotiate a range of legal documentation using standard templates, including leases, licences to alter, licences to assign, licences to underlet and surrender documents. You will manage your own matters.
* Process legal documents for completion using qualifying electronic signatures within DocuSign.
* Prepare completion summaries for inclusion in our property management system, Yardi Voyager.
* Track and record vital lease dates and information within our core systems.
* Collaborate with other Legal Assistants, Team Assistants, Asset Managers, Office Managers, Legal & Compliance team, and external lawyers for best practices.
What you’ll bring
* A genuine interest in the law and property.
* Experience in commercial property is not essential but advantageous.
* Experience in drafting legal documentation is preferred; training is offered if the right candidate lacks this experience.
* Technology skills: strong preference for experience with Yardi Voyager, Salesforce and/or DocuSign, but not essential. Competence in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong analytical and organisational skills; ability to manage and prioritise many tasks while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail.
* Team energy: a hands-on self-starter who can work independently and also collaborate well with others.
* Proactive attitude, openness to learn new systems and processes, and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
