Retail Security Officer

Hourly rate: £12.60 per hour. Permanent – Full-time.
Overview
ASEL, part of the Argenbright Holdings Group, delivers bespoke security solutions integrated with people, technology and processes. We are seeking a proactive Retail Security Officer to provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities to safeguard our client’s retail premises.
Responsibilities
* Provide visible deterrence by patrolling the shop floor.
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities, working proactively to minimise risk.
* Report incidents digitally using tablets or phones for daily activity planning.
* Document incidents legibly to assist the client and local authorities.
* Liaise with management, colleagues and local authorities when necessary.
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
* Conduct colleague and contractor searches in line with client policy.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence.
* Previous retail security experience is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Ability to provide a full 5‑year checkable work or education history.
* Must be able to produce right‑to‑work documents and a recent proof of address on interview day.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Comfortable handling conflict professionally and remaining patient with customers.
Location & Hours
Location: Telford, United Kingdom.
Hours: 47 per week.
Shift pattern:
Monday: 1:30 pm – 10 pm
Tuesday: 1:30 pm – 10 pm
Thursday: 1 pm – 10 pm
Friday: 1 pm – 10 pm
Saturday: 1 pm – 10 pm
Sunday: 10 am – 4 pm
