About the role
As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will:
1. Provide consistent support to pupils with a wide range of learning needs.
2. Assist with personal care and moving and handling, including the use of hoists where required.
3. Support students on both a one-to-one and small group basis across the classroom environment.
4. Be flexible and responsive to changes in behaviour or routine, maintaining a calm and supportive approach.
5. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them develop confidence and reach their full potential.

This is a welcoming Community Special School for students aged 4 to 11 years with a range of special educational needs. As a Classroom Support Assistant, you’ll be part of a team that:
6. Delivers teaching in small class sizes with tailored, one-to-one support.

8. Offers a personalised curriculum focused on each student’s individual learning style and pace.
9. Emphasises life skills, vocational learning, and independence to prepare students for adulthood.
10. Collaborates with local services and provides a range of therapeutic support for pupils.

To be considered for the role of a Classroom Support Assistant in SEN schools you will:
11. Be flexible.
12. Experience in Classroom Support (Preferable)
13. have your own transport
14. Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial
15. Friendly and nurturing qualities.
16. Competent behaviour management skills.
17. Familiarity with a range of needs (e.g., ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, SLD - Severe Learning Difficulty and PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty).
18. Preferably moving and handling training or have recent experience in this.
19. Have a patient and caring nature.
20. Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
21. Willing to complete CPD training.

Salary
£445-£470 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
