I’m currently working with a well-established and growing automotive logistics business who are looking to add a Logistics Planner / Customer Service professional to their team in Maidstone.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, and likes being at the centre of operations, balancing planning responsibilities with customer communication and day-to-day coordination.
The role will suit someone who is proactive, confident communicating with a range of stakeholders, and comfortable working with multiple systems while managing competing priorities.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in coordinating vehicle movements across the UK while delivering a high standard of service to customers and internal teams. Working closely with planners, drivers, and clients, you will ensure jobs are scheduled, priced, and delivered efficiently.
You will also support the daily coordination of a large driver workforce, ensuring work is allocated correctly, costs are calculated accurately, and procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and scheduling vehicle movements in line with customer requirements
2. Pricing transport jobs and confirming bookings
3. Acting as a main point of contact for customers, providing updates and handling queries
4. Coordinating daily activity for a large team of drivers
5. Supporting compliance, procedures, and safe working practices
6. Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational targets
7. Maintaining accurate records across internal systems
Candidate Requirements
8. Previous experience in logistics, transport planning, operations, or coordination
9. Strong customer service and communication skills via phone and email
10. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
11. Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and web-based platforms
12. Able to remain calm, flexible, and solutions-focused during busy periods
13. A positive team player with a proactive approach
