Sous Chef –
The Wild Duck, Cirencester
Salary: Competitive | Contract: 48 hours per week
After six
years of silence, The Wild Duck is returning — and it’s set to be one of the
most talked-about pub reopenings of the year. We’re looking for a talented Sous
Chef to help bring this iconic Cotswold inn back to life.
Part of the
Country Creatures family — a collection of award-winning inns, pubs, and
restaurants known for beautiful spaces, warm hospitality, and exceptional food
and drink — The Wild Duck will combine timeless charm with fresh energy. This
is your chance to play a key role in shaping the kitchen of a stunning pub in
an exciting new chapter of its history.
About the
role:
We’re
searching for an ambitious and driven Sous Chef who loves creating outstanding
dishes and thrives in a busy, creative kitchen. You’ll work closely with the
Head Chef to deliver exceptional food and consistency, lead the team by
example, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and
organisation.
What we’re
looking for:
* A confident, hands-on chef with previous
experience as Sous Chef or Junior Sous in a premium pub, restaurant, or
hotel kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and
systems — back of house system control is essential (ordering, stock
management, cost control, and compliance).
* A passion for seasonal, locally sourced
ingredients and delivering dishes that celebrate great British produce.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills,
with the ability to motivate and develop the team.
* A proactive approach and pride in maintaining
high standards of hygiene, consistency, and presentation.
What we
offer:
* A competitive salary and 48-hour contract.
* The opportunity to be part of a major new opening
within Country Creatures — a respected, growing hospitality group.
* Career development and recognition within an
ambitious, supportive team.
* A vibrant, creative kitchen where your skills,
ideas, and personality will shine.
If you’re
ready to take on an exciting new challenge and help shape one of the hottest
pub reopenings in the country, we’d love to hear from you.
