OR/ASC Service Line Specialist - RN - 20 hours, days. Winchester Hospital is a 223-bed regional hospital serving the northwest suburban Boston area.
Schedule: 20 hours/week, day shift including every third weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities
* As an RN for the OR/ASC Team, complete assessments, administer medications/treatments, observe patients’ progress and evaluate therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each patient.
* Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes.
* As a Service Line Resource for the OR/ASC Team, act as a resource in the service to provide ongoing support incorporating evidence based practice.
* Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Lead Clinical Nurse, Materials Management, Central Materials Services and vendors to provide education and set up in-services for staff relating to area of specialty.
* Provide and/or coordinate in-service education on new equipment, procedures, or processes.
* Precept and educate orientation of new staff to the specialty.
* Assist with assigning staff to cases in the specialty to achieve continued competence in all specialties.
* Maintain advanced competence to scrub and circulate in all specialties.
* Coordinate new equipment/supply trials and implementation in a cost efficient manner as Equipment/Materials Trial Facilitator.
* Meet with vendors to learn of new equipment/materials options and coordinate trial periods with involved stakeholders.
* Collaborate with team to address roadblocks and encourage standardization; present recommendations.
* Coordinate implementation of new equipment/materials including training staff and providers or arranging training by other sources; write and distribute procedures.
* As a Service Line Equipment/Supplies Expeditor, recommend par levels for service line supplies with cost containment in mind; review surgical schedule to ensure availability; communicate changes to surgeons and office staff.
Qualifications
* Graduate of a state-approved and/or accredited RN program required. Preferred: BSN strongly encouraged.
* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
* Work experience in unit specific specialty preferred.
