Grounds Maintenance Operative

You will be responsible for providing front line grounds maintenance services. You will be reliable, have a 'can do' attitude and a commitment to working safely. There are excellent training opportunities available and the council are committed to supporting continuous personal development
Grounds maintenance services are focused on providing quality and safe green space to the local communities.
As a highly motivated individual you will need to be well-organised and able to take direction whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.
Working as an individual as well as part of a team, you will be competent in delivering a range of general grounds maintenance duties, including:
1. Grass cutting
2. Shrub bed maintenance, both within formal and informal areas
3. Hedge cutting
4. Weed management
5. Operating, maintaining and cleaning grounds maintenance and horticultural equipment, including hand tools, strimmers, hedge-cutters, pedestrian and ride on mowers, and any other machinery required to undertake allocated tasks
6. Compliance with all relevant legislation and in particular the control of Vibration at Works Regulations 2005 and PUWER Regulations 1998
Key Requirements
7. Operate equipment in accordance with experience and training
8. Grounds Maintenance knowledge and experience
9. Able to carry out physically demanding tasks
10. Hold a full, clean UK Driving licence
11. Able to work safely within guidance and legislation
12. Experience in a similar job role
13. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
