About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and resilient person to join us as the Homeless Support Manager for our Homeless Outreach Support Team in North Somerset. You will be passionate about providing high-quality support for individuals rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, ensuring they receive the best possible service. This role also has oversight of a small supported housing project for those who have experienced rough sleeping (low support). You will manage a small team and therefore need to have experience of line management.
This role involves working from our central office in Weston‑Super‑Mare, as well as remotely throughout North Somerset, overseeing and providing support services to individuals who, for various reasons, have become homeless. You will work closely with North Somerset Council’s Rough Sleeper Co‑ordinator and other Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCSFE) sector organisations that provide support and guidance for those experiencing or at risk of rough sleeping throughout North Somerset.
Responsibilities
* Use a range of tools and techniques to motivate and engage communities that traditionally may find it tricky to work with services.
* Create professional, positive and trusting relationships with every individual to ensure they feel supported and achieve goals that matter to them.
* Provide a supportive environment for individuals facing one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
* Lead the Homeless Outreach Support Team and oversee the supported housing project, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
* Liaise with local council and VCSFE sector organisations to coordinate support.
Qualifications
* Ability to work independently and confidently when lone working.
* Competence in working with complex and challenging behaviours.
* Willingness to work some early mornings as part of the Outreach service.
* Must be able to provide two suitable references.
* All appointments subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
