PUBLIC POLICY MANAGER
We are seeking a skilled Public Policy Manager to join a leading global technology company in a contract role. This organisation, with a significant presence in the digital landscape, is committed to shaping policies that influence the future of online interactions and digital economies. As part of the Public Policy team, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for policies that align with the company's mission while addressing complex regulatory challenges.
Location: Hybrid role based in London, UK.
Responsibilities:
* Research, analyse, and monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the digital sector, with a focus on social media, data privacy, content moderation, and digital rights.
* Develop and implement strategies to engage with policymakers, government officials, and relevant stakeholders to advance the company's policy objectives.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as Legal, Communications, and Product to provide policy insights and guidance on product development, market entry, and compliance issues.
* Represent the company in external meetings, conferences, and industry events to communicate positions on key policy issues and build relationships with policymakers and thought leaders.
* Draft position papers, policy briefs, and other written materials to articulate the company's policy positions and support advocacy efforts.
* Lead or support advocacy campaigns and coalitions aimed at shaping public policy debates and influencing legislative and regulatory outcomes.
* Track and report on key policy developments, legislative initiatives, and regulatory actions relevant to the company's business interests.
* Contribute to the development of the company's global public policy agenda and priorities in collaboration with regional and global teams.
Required experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience in public policy, government relations, or advocacy roles, preferably within the technology sector or related industries.
* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, legislative processes, and policy issues impacting the digital economy, particularly in Europe.
* Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to distil complex policy issues into clear and compelling messages.
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders, and to navigate political and regulatory environments effectively.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies that support business objectives and promote policy innovation.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively represent the company in public forums and engage with diverse audiences.
* Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
