Job: Product Design Engineer
Location: Northampton
Term: Permanent
Salary: GBP 30,000 to GBP 40,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering and manufacturing company currently looking to bring on a Product Design Engineer to join their growing team.
The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* A degree or qualification in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BSc, BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)
* Previous experience in a similar Product Design or Mechanical Design role
* Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
* Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and production techniques
* A creative and practical approach to product development
* Good understanding of prototyping and testing
* Strong communication and team collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
The Product Design Engineer Role Will Involve:
* Designing and developing new products from concept through to manufacture
* Producing detailed 3D CAD models and drawings
* Creating BOMs and technical documentation
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and quality
* Working closely with clients or internal stakeholders to understand requirements
* Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities
* Ensuring designs comply with applicable standards and regulations
* Continuously improving existing products based on feedback and performance
