Financial Business Partner Purpose A key bridge between the Finance Team and the operational side of the business, collaborating with other support functions as required. Taking responsibility for the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts, working closely with the Financial Controller or Financial Control Manager (if Financial Controller not in post) to achieve this, through eAective delegation where appropriate to other Finance Team members. Liaising with the relevant leadership group to maintain timely project WiP information and recording this completely and accurately in the relevant business systems. Supervising and supporting the payroll preparation. Interface & Relationship Sitting within the Finance Team, the day-to-day interface is largely with the rest of the Finance Team, but role will require collaborative working with other support functions and the operational business staA. Line management is to the Finance Controller. Of note is the required interface expected with the HR Team; a large part of our cost base being staA based. Regular interface will also be required with the Business Systems Team for process development. Accountability Timely production and distribution of financial management information. Project WiP reporting is completed in line with the monthly timeline. Ensuring payroll and pension calculations and uploads are prepared appropriately and on time. Ensure management information is based on a fully reconciled position. Role Expectations (including but not limited to) Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with reporting timetable. Proactively contributing to the identification, development and implementation of system eAiciency improvements. Balance sheet reconciliation preparation monthly Perform in-depth analysis of business performance (costs, revenue, and margin) Supporting the preparation of schedules and providing information and explanations as part of the auditor's fieldwork. Delegating preparation of required supporting schedules as appropriate to team members and managing completion on schedule. Supervise and support the preparation of payroll for employees and members Supervise and mentor relevant members of the Finance Team, as determined appropriately. Skills Qualified or qualifying accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with extensive experience in the preparation of management accounts and liaising with operational and support function counterparts. Very good technical accounting skills. Highly organised, demonstrating the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. EAective communication skills, able to articulate financial information to non-finance specialists. Possessing the gravitas to influence at all levels of the organisation. Ambitious and engaging personality with a natural business focused approach. Focus on continuous improvement of reporting and analysis. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accountancy systems.
