Work is well underway to build the brand-new visitor centre, which is due to be completed in May 2026. The building will be home to a new shop, café, toilets, and visitor reception. Winkworth Arboretum was created in the early 20th Century by Dr Wilfrid Fox, a local doctor with a passion for preserving the wooded hillside near his home. Winkworth is perfect for visiting any time of the year as the landscape changes with the seasons. In spring magnolia, bluebells and azaleas bloom, and in autumn the trees provide a vibrant colour display. Summer visits are perfect for picnics, while winter sees frost cover the landscape of the arboretum. The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors. No two days will be the same. You’ll work across different visitor areas and sites, helping us meet service and targets. You’ll also be on hand to resolve customer issues in a friendly and helpful way.
