Scope of the role
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer leads mechanical development from concept to manufacturing handover across client programmes and internal R&D.
* Drive complex mechanisms, assemblies and detailed SolidWorks CAD.
* Produce drawings with GD&T, tolerance analysis and documentation.
* Apply ISO 13485 design controls; contribute to risk management files.
* Prototype, test, iterate, and support DFM with suppliers.
* Mentor juniors and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
Key skills and experience required
* Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
* Medical device experience with plastics and mechanisms design.
* Expert SolidWorks, complex assemblies and surfacing.
* Injection moulding, DFM, tolerance stacks, FEA and simulation exposure.
* Degree or Master's in Mechanical Engineering; clear, decisive communicator.
Salary and benefits
* £60,000–£65,000 basic salary.

* Flexitime with core hours 10:00 to 15:00.
