Our client is a leading, well-established, and respected manufacturing business. Due to new procedures in the company, they have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Identify manufacturing needs for new and existing product lines and implement solutions.
* Support a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management, and rapid issue resolution, providing alternative solutions and fostering open dialogue on technical issues.
* Conduct PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), document processes, and implement improvements.
* Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving, and process improvement activities in collaboration with the CI Manager.
* Ensure control plans are in place and used to maintain product conformance.
* Apply lean techniques including 6S, Kaizen, and Poka Yoke.
* Participate in design review meetings.
* Investigate production and process issues, providing technical support and training.
* Facilitate knowledge capture and sharing within the team.
Essential Experience:
* Ability to lead and execute complex technical activities.
* 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
* Experience with problem solving using 8D/10 step methodologies.
* PFMEA experience.
* Willingness to perform hands-on work.
* Previous manufacturing engineering experience is required; experience as a design engineer is a plus.
* Good understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
* Understanding of fluid control systems (high pressure pneumatics, hydraulics).
* Knowledge of defense standards and projects is beneficial but not essential.
* Proficient in IT skills (MS Office, MSP, ERP systems).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience engaging with internal customers.
* Understanding of risk management and mitigation through problem solving.
* Self-starter focused on delivering results.
