Job Title: Senior Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Associate – Contaminants & Packaging, Maidenhead

Location: Slough - Hybrid working

Salary: From £60,000 plus bonus and car allowance

Job Description:

Join Mars as a Senior Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Associate – Contaminants & Packaging. In this role, you will perform regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, packaging, PREMIA, and regulatory database management to ensure compliance with food and product laws, including food contact materials and chemicals legislation (e.g., FCM, REACH, contaminants, pesticides).

You will proactively identify regulatory issues, work to minimize or resolve them, and support the creation of a positive scientific and regulatory environment. You will also work on innovation projects and address regulatory challenges impacting our products across the region, such as Codex Alimentarius.


What are we looking for?

* Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food science, biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or related fields; Master's preferred.
* Experience: Extensive experience in scientific/regulatory compliance with food products or related categories; knowledge of European and UK food contact materials and chemicals law; experience with large-scale regulatory projects and cross-functional collaboration; experience working with trade associations and government agencies.


Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor and advise on scientific and regulatory activities related to food contact materials and chemicals in the region.
* Assess regulatory status of new and existing materials, ensuring compliance for market entry.
* Develop and implement strategies to influence external scientific and regulatory policies.
* Represent Mars in trade, industry, and scientific associations.
* Build networks and partnerships to support business and regulatory goals.
* Lead complex regulatory projects with regional and global scope.
