Overview
We’re growing our Commercial Operations team and have two exciting Commercial Analyst roles available. Both roles use data and insight to influence how Screwfix builds, manages, and optimises our ranges — but each focuses on a different part of the customer journey:
1. Commercial Analyst – Space & Floor Planning
2. Commercial Analyst – Range Performance
Whichever role you choose, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the way we deliver the right products, in the right place, at the right time — all while maximising commercial outcomes.
These roles are based at our Head Office in Yeovil, with hybrid working available — you can choose to work up to 2 days a week from home.
Responsibilities
1. Commercial Analyst – Space & Floor Planning
Reporting to the Commercial Space & Format Strategy Manager, this role is all about ensuring our products are working hard in-store, with a huge focus on our City Store formats. You’ll own and analyse how ranges earn their space, tailor assortments to local demand, and influence space-led ranging decisions that drive profitability. You'll also support with other formats and our front of house development across the entire estate.
Key focus areas:
3. Tailor ranges to store and regional demand as part of our “Screwfix Near Me” strategy.
4. Partner with space, format and merchandising teams to create and deliver format-specific assortment plans.
5. Partner with merchandising, marketing and trade-planning teams to improve front of house performance.
2. Commercial Analyst – Range Performance
Reporting to the Range Change Project Manager, this role focuses on understanding how ranges perform across all our channels – from trade counters to next-day delivery. You’ll build frameworks to benchmark products, track lifecycle performance, create recommended changes, and then influence and lead these changes.
Key focus areas:
6. Deliver end-to-end insight into product and range performance across channels.
7. Create actionable recommendations and plans from this data and lead with their implementation.
8. Collaborate with commercial, digital, and data teams on future reporting needs.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
9. Proven experience ideally in an analyst role within a retailer or other commercial, merchandising, or data analysis role.
10. Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to manage, manipulate and analyse complex data.
11. Confident communicator with the ability to influence, simplify and collaborate both across teams and to leaders.
12. Drive continuous improvement by identifying new opportunities for optimisation.
