Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team within the theme park industry. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough maintenance, inspections, and servicing of mechanical systems across a wide range of rides and attractions from various manufacturers
Your responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer will include, but not limited to:
* Routine Inspections: Perform daily inspections of ride components, such as tracks, ride vehicles, motors, brake systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and sensors etc. Identify wear and tear, corrosion, misalignments, and potential safety hazards.
* Track & Ride Vehicle Checks: Inspect track conditions, alignment, and integrity, as well as assess the ride vehicles for proper operation and any mechanical issues such as abnormal wear on wheels, axles, or suspension systems.
* Safety Systems Validation: Ensure that safety systems, such as seat restraints, safety barriers, and emergency shutdown mechanisms, are functioning correctly. Test safety interlocks and emergency stop systems for compliance with OEM guidelines.
* Sensor Functionality Testing: Perform routine checks of sensors and control systems (e.g., proximity sensors, load sensors, position sensors, and temperature sensors) to ensure correct calibration and functionality.
* Motor & Brake System Inspections: Inspect motor drives, brake systems, and any associated control mechanisms to ensure correct performance under normal operating conditions.
* Operational Readiness: Test control systems and communication protocols to ensure rides are ready to operate safely. Verify that all automated systems function smoothly.
* You will also play a critical part in the Annual Maintenance, Inspections and rehabilitation of rides, attractions and systems as prescribed in the original equipment manufacturer manual (OEM) and assigned in the computer-based maintenance management system.
