We are looking to hire an FRA Carpenter to join the Mears Group PLC team in Caerphilly. This is a full‑time, permanent position with an annual salary up to £35,291.86 plus a company van and fuel card.
About the Role
The role is field‑based and requires coverage from Swansea to Abergavenny. Key responsibilities include auditing fire doors, carrying out fire prevention activities such as fire stopping and fire boarding, installing timber fire door sets in line with current legislation, and carrying out fire stopping tasks as directed by FRA findings. Training will be provided.
Role Criteria & Candidate Profile
We look for candidates who:
* Have excellent time‑management skills and can coordinate with other operatives and site contacts.
* Can work effectively as a key member of the team and achieve management‑set targets.
* Demonstrate a willingness to learn and a flexible approach to client needs.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Hold a relevant trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery, preferably NVQ Level 3.
* Have relevant experience in fitting fire doors/repairs and knowledge of fire safety.
* Communicate effectively with client representatives, tenants, and other agencies.
