RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking a Team Leader to join our dedicated team. Our client is renowned for their comprehensive vehicle services, including storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. * Location: Crewe
* Type: Permanent Annualised Contract (Average of 40 hours per week)
* Working Hours: Weekly shift rotation of 06:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm
* Weekend Working: Flexibility is required as weekend work is a client requirement, with shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Staff typically work one of these days every other weekend. If daily volume is completed early, staff may be sent home, but must be available for the full shift.
* Salary: £15.65 per hour
About the role
Working under the supervision and coordination of the Site Manager, you will ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently by providing leadership, guidance, training, and support to the team, while adhering to the client’s KPIs.
Key responsibilities of the role
Leadership and Direction
* Provide overall direction and leadership within the Pre-Delivery Inspection Area and Storage compound
* Create a team environment emphasizing two-way communication and employee involvement
Health & Safety
* Implement health and safety regulations focusing on accident prevention
* Resolve safety issues and maintain proper housekeeping at all times
* Follow ISO procedures
* Maintain quality standards concerning PPE
Supervision of day-to-day workloads
* Supervise daily work ensuring quality standards are met, providing relevant training and guidance
* Ensure all paperwork is completed, updated, and properly filed
* Ensure workstations are adequately staffed and output targets are achieved
This role primarily operates outdoors in a large automotive compound, with duties conducted in varying weather conditions. It involves storing and transporting vehicles in an outdoor logistics environment, requiring moderate walking throughout the day.
About you
* You must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
* You must be able to work the specified shift times.
* You will need to pass an onsite driver’s assessment and a pre-employment drug & alcohol test before starting.
* Previous experience in the automotive or logistics industry is preferred.
* Experience leading a team is essential.
* A level-headed approach is required, especially when driving vehicles to ensure safety.
* An understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to cooperate with managers to comply with them is important.
