Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Kier Design team based in Nottinghamshire. The role is full‑time with hybrid working available, requiring at least weekly attendance at the office and site meetings. Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
Responsibilities
* Conduct surveys of existing buildings and prepare detailed condition reports.
* Advise on repair, maintenance, improvement or development opportunities.
* Design and specify refurbishment, remodelling, restoration and extension works for a variety of building types.
* Manage contracts and support procurement processes for building projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
* Project‑manage the delivery of building surveying services, maintain strong client relationships and ensure commissions are completed on time and within budget.
* Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing fee proposals and supporting tender responses.
Qualifications
* At least an HNC/HND qualification relevant to building surveying (a degree level or RICS‑accredited qualification preferred, along with chartered status through either RICS or CIOB).
* Broad experience as a building surveying practitioner across different building types and sectors.
* Confidence with contract administration, particularly using JCT and NEC forms, and strong project management capabilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the building of collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Proficiency in MS Office, NBS Chorus and AutoCAD, with strong problem‑solving abilities and a positive ‘can do’ approach.
