We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate NMP or Pharmacist Prescriber to join our integrated community drug and alcohol service for a 12-month maternity cover. At our Connect Service, you’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to empowering individuals to change their lives. Under the guidance of our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including specialist Recovery Workers and Volunteers, to enhance the wellbeing of those we serve. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will: Conduct opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions. Manage benzodiazepine reductions and alcohol/opiate detoxifications. Administer detoxification medications and provide health care assessments. Perform Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screenings and vaccinations. Collaborate closely with mental health, physical health, and social care services. Participate in local prescriber meetings and one-on-one clinical supervision. Contribute to shaping service delivery and ensuring clinically excellent services. You’ll receive full training and supervision, along with access to resources like RCNi for revalidation and indemnity insurance. The ideal candidate will: Be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or be a qualified Pharmacist with independent prescriber status. Have confidence in managing opiate prescriptions and alcohol detoxifications. Be an excellent communicator and highly organized. Possess the ability to create flexible, tailored support packages for individuals. Have a genuine passion for helping people and a deep level of empathy and understanding.
