Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions, liaise with Technical Working Groups and present a final document suitable for publication as a new UK-wide environmental standard.
* Apply specialist knowledge of the Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) industry and process engineering.
* Critically analyse technical arguments and data; develop evidence-based recommendations.
* Write clear, accurate technical documents for publication.
* Manage projects, prioritise tasks and ensure timely delivery.
* Travel and overnight stays may be required to support meetings and workshops.
Experience & Skills
* At least 5 years working in environmental regulation within the LVIC industry.
* In-depth understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including the IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
* Strong data‑analysis skills applied to complex industrial datasets.
* Knowledge of how BAT Conclusions influence permits and industry practice.
* Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to produce concise, persuasive arguments.
* Capacity to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Effective planning, prioritising and resource management to meet deadlines.
* Adaptability and skill in building consensus across diverse groups.
* Commitment to inclusive practices and encouraging diversity within the workplace.
Development opportunities and appropriate training will be provided.
Applications will be blind‑assessed using competency questions. Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams and may include a presentation.
Length of contract: up to 2 years from appointment.
Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level. Employment type: Full‑time.
