Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire
Type: Full-time | On-site with some travel

Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for high-performance environments? Join a leading motorsport organisation at the cutting edge of engineering and technology. We're looking for a Senior Second Line Support Technician to provide expert IT support across our UK operations and international events.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our IT operations and infrastructure, supporting both office-based teams and our fast-paced trackside environments. Responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing IT operations and contributing to software development support
2. Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues (on-site & remote)
3. Building, configuring, and deploying laptops and desktops
4. Conducting routine system checks, backups, and security audits
5. Delivering IT inductions and managing onboarding/offboarding processes
6. Maintaining asset registers and performing annual audits
7. Managing mobile devices, print solutions, and telephony systems
8. Monitoring system alerts and responding to incidents
9. Maintaining and updating internal knowledge bases
10. Collaborating with remote and on-site teams and key stakeholders
11. Supporting and managing international remote IT setups at events
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
12. Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT support, ideally in a service delivery capacity
13. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft Defender
14. Experience with virtualization platforms (ideally V-Sphere and Hyper-V)
15. Solid networking skills (switching, routing, VLANs)
16. Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
17. Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
18. Able to adapt quickly to a dynamic, high-pressure environment
Desirable Extras:
19. Experience with antivirus tools like Microsoft Endpoint and Huntress
20. Catia 3DX administration
21. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
22. AV over IP (video distribution) experience
23. Cisco networking knowledge
24. SonicWall firewall management
25. Project management capabilities
Additional Requirements
26. Based at our clients Towcester headquarters, with occasional travel to local satellite offices
27. Willingness and ability to travel internationally on an occasional basis
