As an Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for full clinical assessment, be able to initiate investigations and undertake appropriate front line interventions for acutely unwell patients within your area. You will integrate into the existing medical/nursing teams, carrying out routine assessment and the routine management of patients within the clinical area of your specialism. The post holder will integrate into an already established Acute Care Advanced Practice team to provide support to the medical teams, supporting the management of patients within this service. You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin service delivery and experience within an appropriate clinical environment is essential together with knowledge and training to degree level. Applicants should hold a degree level nursing qualification, with current NMC registration and be able to evidence highly developed specialist knowledge to Masters equivalent level, with significant comprehensive post registration experience within the acute care setting, some of which must be at a senior level. You will be supported to attain a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, including a nurse independent prescribing qualification as a requirement for this post. Applicants who partially meet the essential criteria will be considered for a trainee Band 7 (AfC Annex 21 applies) and where required, you will be provided with a programme of training during your initial period of employment, specifically around managing the acutely unwell adult, physical health assessment, advanced life support and area specific training.
