Overview

We are looking for a motivated candidate to join a well established team in Ward 54 who will be responsible for looking after the housekeeping on a busy surgical ward. The successful candidate will require to work alongside the ward manager and the nursing team towards contributing to the smooth running of our services and in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment is maintained.


Responsibilities

* Coordinate all patient facilities in the ward ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
* Ensure effective provisions of catering, cleaning and maintenance services on the ward.
* Talk to and reassure patients.
* Order non-clinical supplies.
* Keep the ward clean and tidy.
* Prepare snacks and drinks.
* Report faults.
* Clerical and admin tasks.
* Contribute towards quality and improvement.


Qualifications and Skills

* Excellent communication skills and a knowledge of infection control.
* Basic IT skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, challenging and rewarding environment.
* Organisational skills and a methodical approach with a patient-centred focus.


Experience

* Experience within a busy ward is desirable, although not essential, as supervision and support will be available to orientate you into the role.

* The post is full-time based on the needs of the service (Monday-Friday).
