Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a friendly and inclusive school in the Wellingborough area that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Support may be on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, depending on individual pupil requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting pupils with SEN to access learning and achieve positive outcomes
2. Providing one-to-one and small group support
3. Assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities
4. Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
5. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Experience working with children or young people with SEN (education, care, or support settings)
7. A patient, caring, and flexible approach
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
9. A genuine passion for inclusive education
10. Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential
