Are you an experienced and passionate teacher with a strong commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking a Deputy SENCO to join our dedicated team in Enfield on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role
As Deputy SENCO, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination and delivery of outstanding SEND provision across the school. Working closely with the SENCO, you will lead initiatives that ensure every student has access to an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with SEND while further developing your leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist the SENCO in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy.
· Provide guidance and support to teachers and support staff on best practices for inclusive teaching.
· Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
· Support the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and oversee their implementation.
· Contribute to the identification of training needs and the delivery of SEND-related CPD sessions.
· Help to manage the SEND budget and resources effectively.
· Work with the SENCO to monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision across the school.
Person Specification
We are looking for a committed professional with:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
· Experience in working with students with SEND.
· Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and best practices in inclusive education.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· A proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire colleagues.
· A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
