Job Title: Sous Chef Country Hotel Dorking Area
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week 5 days over 7, including weekends
Location: Near Dorking, Surrey
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious country hotel located in the beautiful Surrey countryside near Dorking. The hotel is known for its fresh, seasonal menus served in its restaurant, alongside weddings, events, and private dining.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for a strong Sous Chef or ambitious Junior Sous looking to step up and take more responsibility in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Leading the team during service and taking charge in the Head Chefs absence
* Preparing and cooking a variety of fresh, seasonal dishes for the restaurant and events
* Managing stock, ordering, and waste control
* Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health & safety
* Training and developing junior members of the brigade
* Helping with menu development and specials planning
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a quality kitchen
* Confident cooking fresh food to a high standard across all sections
* Excellent team leadership and communication skills
* A calm, positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure
* Flexibility to work 5 days over 7, including weekends
* Own transport is essential due to the rural location
