Applicants must have experience in using positive behaviour support strategies, trauma‑informed approaches, or therapeutic practices that promote emotional wellbeing and inclusion. The school’s ethos of nurturing confident, resilient individuals who are prepared to play a meaningful role in life strongly underpins both classroom practice and the wider school culture.

This is a rewarding role for a teacher who is committed to building strong relationships, promoting positive behaviour, and enabling every pupil to achieve their potential both academically and socially.

- Teachers who can support their fellow members of staff and lead by example in their behaviour and attitude throughout the school.

- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

- Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

- Level 2 Safeguard training.

- Professional references covering the previous 24 months of employment, in addition to/ including a reference from a SEN school as a previous employer.

About the School-

The school is based in Penarth but has campuses around Barry and Cardiff. The school supports around 500 pupils aged 3–19, all with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including ASD, PMLD, and physical disabilities.

While the environment is fast‑paced, staff are fully supported by a strong team and a dedicated Headteacher. The school is award‑winning, recognised for its innovative use of technology to enhance learning and participation.

Alongside a rich curriculum, pupils benefit from regular outdoor and community‑based activities that build confidence and prepare them for life beyond school. The school is equally committed to staff development, offering regular training opportunities and clear routes for career progression within SEN education.
