Description
Are you a compassionate and inspiring individual with experience supporting high-needs students in education? Sandwell College, a leading Further Education college in the West Midlands, is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for fixed-term contracts until June 2026. Both full-time and part-time hours are available.
Please note that salary will be calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and hours worked. The advertised salary reflects the full academic year: £23,447 - £27,164 per annum (Pro rata £15,718.60 - £18,210.43).
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with pupils with complex special educational needs (SEN).
* Support learners with learning difficulties, behavioural needs, and SEMH needs.
* Implement behaviour management strategies, carry out administrative tasks, and provide personal care with sensitivity and respect.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Understanding of diverse student needs in an FE setting.
* Strong classroom and behavioural management skills.
* Minimum GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent (Level 2).
* Level 2 qualification in supporting roles, health and social care, or teaching.
* Adaptability, resilience, and a desire to make a positive impact.
Assessment Centre
Scheduled for Tuesday 13th June, lasting approximately 4 hours. The session includes a tour, group exercise, formal interview, and Q&A. Attendees will receive an outcome by the following Friday. Please indicate your availability on your application.
