We are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Support Worker on a 2-year fixed term contract. You will implement high standards of care for patients, whilst following hospital guidelines and protocols. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) supporting patients who are having small day case procedures and scopes.

About the role
* Undertake delegated clinical tasks within chosen working department and reporting back to the RHP on clinical interventions.
* Accurately update patient information on IT systems.
* Ensure patient care areas are effectively maintained and well stocked.
* Follow standard operating policies and procedures, however, is expected to use own initiative appropriately and make decisions within scope of role, regarding prioritising workload to deliver the role effectively.
* Work flexibly in the department, according to training, competency and skills.
Skills and experience required
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience
* Relevant professional qualification, NVQ Level III in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake.
* Basic Life Support training.
* Clinical skills (, Phlebotomy, Cannulation, Catheter care, ECG recording, bladder scanning, urinalysis, assisting with procedures/examinations, conducting basic diagnostic tests/examinations, dressing changes).
* Good IT skills.
* Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure.
* Methodical in approach and pays attention to detail.
* Effective verbal communication using tact and diplomacy.
* Strong patient-centred approach.
* Supports a culture of professionalism and positive working in a team environment.
* Demonstrates honesty, integrity and ethics in the workplace.
* Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude and flexibility to meet the requirements of the service.
