£525/day (Inside IR35) – Initial contract until end of March 2026 – London (Hybrid)
We’re working with a central government department to hire a Content Designer on a contract basis. You’ll help teams across government produce clear, user‑focused content that meets the Service Standard and supports high‑quality public services.
What you’ll do
* Develop, refine, and manage content grounded in user needs, using research, analytics, and feedback.
* Translate insights into content strategies, user stories, and actionable publishing plans.
* Partner with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and communities of practice across government to ensure content is accurate and effective.
* Contribute actively to the GDS and wider cross‑government content community.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working, helping teams work more efficiently.
* Manage competing priorities and deliver work across multiple projects in a flexible, responsive way.
About you
* Experienced in user‑centred content design and publishing, including working with CMS platforms.
* Skilled at applying analytics, research, and user feedback to guide content decisions.
* Confident in engaging with stakeholders and balancing multiple projects and priorities.
* Proactive in improving processes, sharing best practices, and raising standards across teams.
