We have an exciting new role to develop dynamic and integrated balance sheet analytics as part of capability build within the wider Balance Sheet Management team.
The individual will be responsible for developing tools, specifying data requirements and implementing strategic methodologies to enable balance sheet optimisation. As well as this, the scope will include risk/reward impact assessment of multiple business strategies and market scenarios through dynamic, integrated Balance Sheet modelling.
The role will support the Head of Balance Sheet Management in implementing decision support systems which will drive optimal decision making through customer, colleague and commercial lenses. Through working closely with Capital, Funding & Liquidity, IRRBB, Finance and Product SMEs, appropriate data will be identified and sourced and used to build effective tools to enhance Balance Sheet Management capability.
You will bring:
* understanding of balance sheet dynamics and core knowledge of Treasury products/processes and customer behaviours is required to identify pockets of structural value/risk within the balance sheet and assist in its strategic construct through analytical excellence.
* to take complex regulatory and financial concepts and translating them in a straightforward manner through excellent communication.
* organisational skills and collaborative approach are required to ensure engagement and delivery across functions. Development of understanding of key financial services concepts across broader analytical community is critical to embedding long-term operational excellence strategy within the Society
Technical skills:
* knowledge of financial services, treasury and the associated regulatory environment
* knowledge of Treasury markets, derivatives, and macro-economic environment
* understanding of data warehouses, manipulation of large data sets and analytical techniques
* modelling, analytical and interpretation skills
* to identify and interpret asset and liability product finance behaviours and characteristics
* to create data models and improve processes through efficient use of coding language (e.g. SQL, VBA, SAS, Python, R etc)
* to transform data into accessible information through use of visualisation tools e.g. PowerBI, Tableau
